About the Program

Our dance program fosters creativity and talent at every level through a diverse exploration of dance styles. Students delve into ballet, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, and jazz funk while introducing students to the elements of choreography, stage production, and performance.

Course Offerings

Dance 1 - Beginning

This introductory dance course is designed for students with little to no prior dance experience. It provides exposure to a variety of dance styles, while introducing fundamental choreography concepts. The goal of this course is to build a strong foundation in dance technique and performance, preparing students for their second year of dance study.

Dance 2 - Intermediate

The Intermediate Dance course builds upon the foundation established in Beginning Dance. Placement may also be determined by prior dance experience.  Throughout the year, students will continue to develop skills in choreography, while deepening their artistic expression and creativity. Through structured exercises, students will refine their technical abilities at an advanced-beginning to intermediate level, enhance their rhythm and timing, adapt to various dance styles, and develop foundational performance skills.

Dance 3 - Advanced

Dance 3 - Advanced Dance is designed for students with prior dance experience who seek to expand their technical skills, artistic expression, and appreciation of dance. This course deepens students’ understanding through the study and exploration of various dance forms. Emphasis will be placed on composition and choreography, allowing students to develop their creative voice. Students will have the opportunity to perform in both the Fall and Spring Dance Concerts and will engage in live performance viewings with critical analysis. Admission to this course is by audition only.

Dance Production

This pre-professional, performance-based course is designed for advanced dancers seeking to refine their skills in ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, and musical theatre. Students will take on roles as choreographers, directors, and producers, creating and staging annual dance concerts. The course emphasizes choreographic technique, with opportunities to present original works in concerts and community performances. Dance Production also fosters school spirit by performing at school sporting events, community gatherings, and local festivals throughout Southern California. Admission to this course is by audition only.
